4Very pleased and can't beat the price.  Jan 17, 2011 By hogansalley
My wife and I were looking for something we could get the children that would work half way decent. All the children's microphone we ever purchased didn't. I don't think this was made for children but it should be painted red, pink, or blue and marketed for children. Most children's products cost more and don't come close to the quality. Plus you get two microphones(no fighting for our two kids). Awesome product for children, can't vouch for professionals. Drawbacks for the parent user is that it comes with a 1/4" plug which most home systems don't have. We had to go to Radio Shack and buy a 1/4" to RCA adapter. Also, the microphones have an on/off switch and if left on 24/7 the 9 volt battery will not last long. Children aren't the best on being responsible about turning things off after they're finished. Stock-up! Very pleased overall.

5Great Deal  Nov 24, 2010 By F. Miscione
I host Karaoke and bought this set about 9 months ago. Let me preface this review by saying THESE MICS are $50!!!
They sound great, the range is great if you set them up right. I initially had problems with the mics cutting in and out on reception, after that I found a place to mount them up closer to the ceiling, about 12 feet off the floor, since then, my patrons can go 50ft out and get clear reception.

The casing of the mics is the cheapest part, the first time they are dropped the battery casing WILL crack. And the screen on top will dent very easily as well, you are getting 2 wireless mics for $50.

After 9 months my host mic is almost pristine, the guest mic has been dropped over 10 times, it still works and sounds the same, but the screen is dented to hell, which I have hammered out several times, and the battery case has been cracked twice, which you can electrical tape or replace since the unit is only $50 for 2 mics, and the on/off switch busted off too but I just kill the mic at the board when people are done, which I prefer anyway, cuz people switch it off themselves and then the next person forgets to switch it on and there is nothing I can do but go over and do it for them or motion for them to do it.

If you are running karaoke do you want to spend $400 on a Shure wireless system (single mic) to take the abuse of karaoke performances. Or you can give them a sturdy wired SM58 for $100 (to replace a mic screen on a 58 is $16). This is a slam dunk, If it breaks every 6 months i would continue to replace at this price, and my original set is still trucking along at 9 months.

Also the battery life is kind on these, a quality 9 volt will go 2 full nights (10-12 hours) I have had it go 3 nights as well but you are throwing the dice on it dying in the middle of your third night.

The sound quality is warm and I can EQ it to sound really good, my advice to you is find the proper place to mount it and crank the volume all the way up on the transmitter then control input level at the board. Any other function besides Karaoke they would probably last longer, since karaoke is the most abuse you can put a microphone through.

5Warning tech newbies: you need a sound system for this!  Dec 03, 2011 By Twin mom
Just a warning to other consumers who are not tech savvy when it comes to something like this. I saw this product and thought it would be a fun Christmas gift for my kids who like to ham it up with toy mics. Like a fool, I thought all I needed was this kit. I got it, put batteries in the mics, followed the simple directions and... no sound.

Looking back, this is kind of funny but I didn't realize that you need a SOUND SYSTEM of some kind to go with these mics. Doh! The vendor was so polite on the phone as he explained that (but still probably wanted to laugh). I asked what the lowest priced compatible system from them would be, and it is $149.00.

I'm assuming that some of the other reviews written by parents are referring to using them with less expensive home karaoke systems, but as I know nothing about those, I'm going to return these mics and cut my losses! Thank goodness I tried these mics out beforehand and realized my mistake instead of giving them directly to my kids and getting their hopes up.

I'm giving this product 5 stars because they came lightning fast, the vendor was terrific on the phone and the mics themselves look wonderful, seem well made and the instructions are short and sweet.

4Good starter system for home microphones.  Nov 18, 2011 By Jason H.
I got these so we could have a Karaoke system at home. Plugged them into a Home Theatre PC with Karaoke software installed. They work pretty well. The range is great, and battery life has been better than expected. One set of batteries has lasted me for several weeks of regular use. As others mentioned, they feel a little light and plasticky, but for such a good price that's to be expected. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get wireless microphones, this is the way to go!

3Not bad for the price  Jan 09, 2010 By Sean LeClaire
I bought these for my 8 year old daughter. For $39.95, what do you expect? I think they worked great and proformed well. If you are a professional, this isn't for you. If you are doing karaoke at home, have kids who enjoying singing, then these are for you. My mics died after a year, however, my kids took them apart. I'm buying another set if that tells you anything. :D
