5A great case for storage and transportation.  Aug 17, 2006 By David L. Kersey "The Geek"
To call the Odyssey case well built would be an under statement, this case is Rugged, empty the case weights in at almost 40 pounds. The CLP200P is solidly constructed and should be able to take what ever you throw at it, short of throwing it out a speeding truck. I have used mine for extra seating a couple times and would not worry about stacking them 3 or four high. The only downside to it is that you will need help moving it when fully loaded.

The entire case appears to be to be made out of high grade 3/4" plywood, with metal reinforcements at all corners and at the upper edges of the base near the lip. Both the handles and the latch are recessed, with the latch being totally flush when closed and the handles extending only slightly while in the down position, due to the large rubber grips. The lid is carpeted inside and out while the body is only carpeted on the outside and about the first inch or so on the inside. The lid is also fully removable, getting it out of the way when you need quick access to your discs. The latch is a heavy weight, positive locking, twist type and while there is no way to lock the latch you could easily run a couple of zip-ties through the holes to at least make it tamper resistant.

I can't say for sure that the case will hold 200 LPs, as I am using mine to store a combo of LPs and Laser Discs (Laser Discs are about two to three times thicker then an LP), but 200 sounds about right. I do plan on buying a second case as I still have a few more LPs and LDs that need to have a better home.

4Not too shabby once I understood the cover  Aug 15, 2009 By MCFarina "michelle"
I got this LP case for the boyfriend. Sharp looking, heavy-duty, you will need two people to carry it once its filled with 200 LPs. When we initially opened the case, one hinge was "stuck" and the other came right off the base. I didnt realize the top was supposed to come off as a feature. essentially, there are 2 peices. The cover comes unhinged on purpose. cool thing about the case is it has padded bumps on the bottom so the metal reinforcements dont scratch the hell out of your wood floors. cool deal. a little spendy for my tastes, but the boyfriend couldnt be happier. what more can you ask for?

5One-time Purchase Meant To Last  Jun 17, 2008 By wnw
After losing my entire LP collection in 2005 (the big "K" hurricane), replacing those rare albums has been a challenge. An even bigger challenge has been what do I do with them when I finally locate and purchase the replacement? I was looking for something compact and portable. Something I could pick up, put in my car, and evacuate if need be. I purchased a couple of other cases but neither were exactly what I was looking for or what these LPs deserve. Then, I found this product by Odyssey, ordered it, and am so glad that I did.

5Odyssey CLP200P  Dec 21, 2010 By NAR
I am very happy with this item. It seems very durable, yet very easy on the cargo. I didn't know I had so much vinyl until I loaded this thing up in about 2 minutes. Still, it's very worth the money to protect my collection. My ONLY complaint is that it is a tight fit; I keep all of my vinyl in plastic sleeves and there is no wiggle room. The barrier and lid squash the edges of the sleeves. No big deal since I leave the lid up, but maybe a few more centimeters would have relieved it. Great buy and I'll probably buy another.

5Does the job  Feb 12, 2010 By Alice Fielding "kangarunitarian"
It doesn't hold quite as many records as it says it does, but overall it does the job well. We were looking for a way to store records in our eight-by-twelve living room while still allowing for a place to sit, and it's sturdy enough that we can put two small cushions on it and have a bench. My husband likes that if the house next door catches fire again (it did once, our house wasn't damaged but we had to evacuate and he was worried about his record collection), he can grab the handle and drag it outside, so he thinks.
